The new ASUS ZenBook 13 (UX333), 14 (UX433) and 15 (UX533) herald a new era of thin, light, compact laptops with four-sided frameless NanoEdge displays that feature ultraslim bezels on all four sides, giving up to an unrivaled up to 95% screen-to-body ratio for a near-borderless viewing experience.
The NanoEdge display also allows a much more compact design, making each of the new ZenBook models the world’s most compact laptops for their respective screen size. In fact, ZenBook 13 is smaller than a sheet of A4 paper, and the slightly larger ZenBook 14 is still smaller than most 13-inch laptops on the market. ZenBook 15 has a chassis the size of a standard 14-inch ultraportable laptop, but manages to accommodate a large and immersive 15.6-inch screen.
Military grade reliability, Enterprise level security – All of the new ZenBook models have been torture-tested to military-grade (MIL-STD-810G) reliability standards, with demanding tests that include environmental extremes of altitude, temperature and humidity, in addition to extensive drop, shock and vibration testing. They also feature TPM 2.0 module for enterprise level security that gives business IT managers a high level of security by providing secure user authentication and remote access to corporate intranets.
The First ZenBook Series With a Four-Sided NanoEdge Display
Designed to give users the most screen area in the least physical space, the new frameless four-sided NanoEdge design of the new ZenBook is simply breathtaking: it makes any visuals more immersive, with less distraction for your eyes. The ultraslim bezels are just 3mm thin at the sides, 4.5mm at the bottom and a mere 6.4mm at the top to accommodate the camera. The effect is truly stunning — it’s like an infinity pool for your eyes, creating up to an unrivaled 95% screen-to-body ratio that maximizes the screen area in the minimum physical space.
Patent-pending innovations for the new frameless NanoEdge – Slimming down the screen bezels was not an easy task. The bezel on an LCD display normally hides many important components such as the camera module and some of the display circuitry. ASUS engineers and designers used a unique patent-pending method to bend and rearrange the display’s circuit board in order to make the bezels thinner. They redesigned the camera module to become the thinnest ever, and engineered a new cable placement that allowed us to reduce the width of the top bezel without sacrificing the camera.
Ideal Webcam Position
With the four-sided frameless NanoEdge display, our designers and engineers still decided to retain the webcam because a survey we conducted found that 76% of laptop users still use a webcam at least once a month. Unlike other makers, we decided to retain the top-bezel position as 80% of users prefer it there, and a bottom-mounted camera can produce a very unflattering view of the face.
